- The Touch Book is a portable device that works as both a netbook and a touchscreen tablet. Use the keyboard to type an email or open an Office document. Or use the touchscreen tablet to browse sites on your fridge door or play games and watch videos from your sofa. Based on open source software and hardware, the instant-on Touch Book weighs just two pounds and offers never-before-seen battery life.
- Market Opportunity
- Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies, predicted that manufacturers would sell 18 million netbooks in 2008, and at least another 36 to 38 million worldwide in 2009.
- DEMO Says
- Always Innovating has capitalized on open source hardware design and leveraged its own creative thinking to bring to market an affordable and stylish "netbook" device. The Touch Book is a little bit laptop, a little bit iPhone and a whole lot useful. This device will find a ready market among people who want a more capable read/write device with which to navigate cloud computing. And with its ARM processor, Linux and commodity components, we won't be surprised to see an ecosystem of applications grow up around this product.
