- Product Description
- REALbasic 2005 is cross-platform technology that really works. A modern, object-oriented software design environment, REALbasic's power and ease of use enable everyone to create all kinds of software, from utilities to enterprise-class applications, for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. REALbasic builds native cross-platform applications that eliminate the need for DLLs and installed frameworks, minimizing deployment and support issues. REALbasic helps Visual Basic developers easily migrate their existing applications cross-platform to Windows 98/Me/NT/2000 and XP, Macintosh and Linux.
- Market Opportunity
- REALbasic 2005 will impact Linux desktop adoption rates as we eliminate a major obstacle to adoption: the dearth of software available. Given 3 million Visual Basic developers (source: Microsoft, IDC), we fully expect that 20% of these will migrate to cross-platform desktop software development as Linux gains a foothold in the desktop market.
- DEMO Says
- "In the quest for cross-compiled, native UI development tools, REALbasic 2005 comes as close as we've seen. More importantly, though, if Linux is to make the move from server to desktop, developers need programming tools to make the lead from Windows to Linux. REAL Software has done that with this new toolset."
